Bodee’s Restaurant has open with a bang
Summer 2005
Bodee’s Restaurant has opened with a bang, out on scenic Highway 33… Owner Michele Cromer-Bentivolio greeted us, proudly showing off the incredible amount of work they’ve done… Bodee’s features three unique dining areas-two outdoors, one indoors… There is a long patio running alongside the man-made stream. Another patio with large stone fireplace, and the interior is furnished with custom-made tables and comfortable booths, in a lodge-like setting… Executive Chef Chris Watson, formerly of Nona’s Courtyard in Ventura, offers diners a full range of appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts… We went early one evening and enjoyed appetizers of yellow fin tuna tartar layered with crispy fried wontons, sambal, and Thai peanut sauce, and a divine tortilla soup with roasted chicken and large dollop of guacamole. We split a Caesar salad, and then tried the juicy Black Angus New York steak, served with goat cheese potato pancake and fresh, crispy green beans… The view was of a tangerine orchard, thus we ordered the Ojai Pixie tangerine mousse for dessert- a light, divine concoction that I would prefer not to share, next time… Bodee’s is at 3304 Maricopa Hwy., Ojai. (805) 646-5300.
