Bodee’s Supports 4-H Programs
September 30th, 2005
Bodee’s Restaurant had quite a day at the Ventura County Fair Junior Livestock Auction. Their first time at the auction, Bodee’s Restaurant helped make the annual event a success. Michele Cromer-Bentivolio, Bodee’s Proprietor and Jody Cromer proudly represented the restaurant which is located at 3304 Maricopa Highway, just 2.5 miles north of the “Y” in Ojai.
A total of five animals were purchased at the auction:
- Lamb – Purchased from Kevin Mulhem, Las Posas 4-H, Camarillo, CA.
Bodee’s will be donating this animal to a local charity.
- Grand Champion Turkey – Purchased from Jacqueline Eldridge, Las Posas 4-H, Camarillo, CA.
Bodee’s will be donating this animal to a local charity.
- Grand Champion Angus Bred Heifer – Purchased from Susana Lamb, Las Posas 4-H, Camarillo, CA
- Replacement Heifer (736 lbs.) – Purchased from Blake Heath, Citrus Valley 4-H, Oak View, CA.
- Replacement Heifer (729 lbs.): purchased from Jessica Frost, Los Posas 4-H, Somis, CA
The Heifer’s will be raised at Bodee’s Ranch in Ojai along with their existing livestock herd. Bodee’s foresees making the Junior Livestock Auction an annual event and will continue the practice of donating some of the animals to various local charities every year.
Prior to Bodee’s participation, the Cromer Family and Quail Run Ranch took part in the auction for 10 years. Their tradition of supporting local youth learn leadership and life skills through the 4-H programs will therefore remain a core value for the Cromer family.
Bodee’s congratulates all of the young people who put in many long hours, money, and effort into raising the animals for this exciting event.
