Bodee’s… Let’s Do Lunch !!!!
July 20, 2006
“The View, The People, The Food.” This tagline has become synonymous with Bodee’s Restaurant located at 3304 Maricopa Highway, just 2.5 miles north of the “Y” in Ojai. It’s true, the view is unbeatable, the staff impeccable, and the food… well, it’s exceptional. The atmosphere at Bodee’s is what truly sets them apart from all other restaurants in Ventura county. For over a year now, Bodee’s has been treating its guests to a truly unique dining experience, but it seems that the best kept secret at this fine dining establishment is the lunch menu.
At Bodee’s, a casual lunch can be enjoyed alfresco nestled among the ferns and flowers found in the grotto-like setting of the water-scaped garden. This peaceful lunch-time serenity can be enjoyed on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. Additionally, Bodee’s offers a light-fare menu from 3 pm to 5:00 pm… what a great way to enjoy a sunny afternoon with friends while the sound of the waterfall lazily rolls by. A glass of wine from Bodee’s chef selected menu or a generous glass of one of their beers on tap makes a perfect accompaniment to any one of the menu selections.
The lunch menu features a pleasing mix of delicious dishes to choose from. For starters, try out their signature guacamole, made from avocados right off of their own ranch with a heaping portion of fresh to-order chips and home made salsa. If that’s not what you’re in the mood for, how about a barbeque duck confit quesadilla with mango salsa and sour cream… not your ordinary south of the border treat. Ceasar salad with a homemade dressing, spinach salad with sun-dried fruits and nuts, and deep-fried calamari with Bodee’s special spicy red pepper sauce are all winners.
If you are looking for a heartier lunch try their ½ lb. Kobe beef burger, with over a dozen toppings to choose from, this is a real palate pleaser, add a healthy pile of ranch fries and wow, that’s a great meal. Other specialties include a slow-roasted tri-tip sandwich on a Kaiser roll with a chipotle aioli sauce, a barbeque chicken wrap, a hot pastrami sandwich on grilled rye, a seared yellow-fin tuna wrap for those looking for a taste-of-the-sea, and last but not least, Bodee’s famous ribs… a half rack of finger-licking pleasure.
On Sunday afternoons, entertainment is provided by Al Westcott from Noon to 4. Al’s mellow acoustic guitar rhythms are a blend of contemporary, classic and country tunes that provide a pleasant ambience making enjoying a Sunday afternoon in Ojai the only way to spend the day.
Don’t forget… Bodee’s is the spot for fine dining elegance as well. And for a limited time during the summer months, Bodee’s will be featuring fresh locally caught swordfish right off the boat. So come on over to Bodee’s, and let Michele Cromer-Bentivolio, Bodee’s proprietress greet you and make sure your experience at Bodee’s is a memorable one.
