Christopher Watson, Bodee’s Executive Chef had aspirations of becoming a chef at the tender age of 8. This early epiphany was not due to his upbringing, as his family’s roots were not at all epicurean.
At the age of 16, Chef Watson’s first job was at Raphael’s Bar & Bistro in Providence, Rhode Island. His passion for food proceeded to take him to several
4 and 5 star restaurants throughout his tenure in Providence.
Now, at the age of 27, Chris has more than 11 years experience as a chef and has cooked at some of Ventura counties finest restaurants including
Nona’s Courtyard Café, Table 13, Marvilla and
the Ojai Valley Inn.
Chris describes his cuisine style as passionately flavorful. According to Chris, “Food is not quantum physics. It’s about keeping your ideas within certain flavor profiles, the same way a musician works with scales.” This balance between precision and inspiration rewards those who enjoy one of his meals with a delightfully palate pleasing fusion of tastes to savor.
Real “foodies” know that fine dining involves not only engaging the sense of taste, but each of the 5 senses must be enticed to fully appreciate an incredible dining experience.
The imaginative, yet classically elegant plating presentations scintillate the eyes, while the aromatic bouquet of the well-blended spices of each dish satisfy the sense of smell. Last, but not least, the taste buds are aroused by the variety of textural elements of each delicious bite. A true gastronomic experience.
